Keeping a Communication Log During an ICBC Claim
A simple way to track calls, emails, requests, documents sent, and follow-up items without relying on memory.
Record the basics after each contact
Note the date, who you spoke with, the purpose of the conversation, and any next step. Keep the entry short enough that you will actually maintain the habit.
Save important messages in their original form
Keep emails, letters, and attachments rather than copying only selected sentences into your notes. Your log should point to the original communication, not replace it.
Track promises and requested documents
If someone asks you to send a record or says they will provide something later, add a follow-up date. This turns the log into a practical task list instead of a passive diary.
Keep tone neutral
A communication log is more useful when it is factual. Avoid emotional summaries and focus on what was said, what was requested, and what happens next.
